The Tuss.

Is it him? isn't it him? whatever or who ever it is Rephlex have done a great job (with the help of forum debates) with getting "Confederation Through EP" by "The Tuss" some great coverage.

We have 3 tracks on CD and 3 on vinyl. both share the same first 2 tracks but have their own 3rd track. Having listened to both, the 3rd track on the vinyl for me doesn't stand out as much as the 3rd track on the CD release. but they are all great!

Just some points on this which looking around the net I have read and am not claiming this as my own findings (just sharing common knowledge).

Tuss = a slang word from Cornwall (RDJ is from Cornwall)
The artwork on the vinyl looks like it would fit comfortably in the Analord series!
and it really really sounds like RDJ

At the end of the day if this isn't Richard it's still damn good music, and an LP is on the way called "Rushup Edge" which can't come sooner.

New DMX Krew

It's been a long 3 years since Ed released anything. But the question is was it worth the wait?

YEAH! I wont go into detail but new and redone old wrapped up and done very very well. This is now one of my favorite DMX releases. It's limited though, Boomkat has samples here but don't have any copies. Hunt it down as it's very much worth it

Dopplereffekt re-press

Dopplereffekts' hugely famous release Gesamtrunstwerk has been given a new lease of life thanks to a hugely welcome re-press (well from me anyway).

If you don't know any of the work from this release then get busy people! Grab it here

030303 AACCIIIDDDD!

YEAH! I have been away again and am still away with work now but have a little time to catch up on some much needed posting!

Marguerita have released volume 2 of their 030303 series with a collection of 5 greats in the IDM world chewy up and salivating out some delicious ACID for you plate! As usual Boomkat have it scored up ready to listen then buy just around here somewhere!

New Urban Tribe

The new Urban Tribe album on Rephlex has landed! It should be a detroit treat as well.

Lets hope the vinyl version I have ordered doesn't face the same 2 month delay as the last Rephlex release this year!

DELIA DERBYSHIRE - Electrosonic

This is a big one and just in time for christmas!

It seems that an album has apeared from the late Delia and one which I think might well be very very collectable indeed. If you liked nything from the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop then this is essential! Head over to Boomkat to grab a copy of the 500 limited pressings!

It's gone all quiet but Ceephax makes me larf!

In response to the ever mind bollock inducing crap fest that I'm starting to see My Space as, Ceephax has himself had enough of this inbred village chumfuckery and has well and truly ripped the piss!

Go see Ceephaxs' My Space page here

Hecker and Voafose out

Well it finally dropped on my doorstep and how very very strange the new 10" is!

Heckers side is mainly over 5 minuets of clicking. nothing much to intrest the brain.

On the Flip and a new CAT number brings in Voafose. I'm glad he has decided to come to the front of the crowd now with this release. Look out for his sekf titled album which is to be released onRephlex in the next week. It's only on cd though so I won't be grabbing a copy :(

Heker and Voafose drop a Tenner on Rephlex

The following is taken from Warpmart

OUT ON MONDAY

A highly limited and collectable 10 inch of high sonic strangeness from rephlex with it's very own catalogue number. Three tracks here, Heckers is extremely minimal and shows a new direction in sound design for him. Turn it up loud for full disorientating effect. Voafose is a name you would only know from the dedications on Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert and others records as up to now his career has been limited only to a few releases, he drops in one track which sounds like it could be a field recording, or rather a bathroom recording, the other is some wittily pitch bended message of New Years God Will. Quality goods.

Analog~1 New album and possible 12"

Today a small birdie flew past my window and told me that a new album and 12" might be comming our way from MCMLV [Productions]

I said to that birdie TO FUCKING RIGHT! as their last release was exellent! YEAH!

Ceephax confirmed and more more more!

Rephlex has added some new releases to there schedule!

Urban Tribe are to release a new LP called "Acceptable Side Effects"

Aleksi Perälä (AKA Ovuca, Astrobotnia) is to release a new LP called "Project V"

More Brothomstates news

OK nothing major just that he has finally got rid of the "Temporarily unavailable" page on his website and replaced it with a......

.....flyer!

See I told you it wasn't big! Maybe a sign of something new to come from him. I will keep an eye out!

Friday, September 29, 2006

More and more Squarepusher!

It's a big build up this one! We have more stuff to sink our brains into.

This time we have the Last of the digital singles on bleep, and a live video of Tom playing put up by the nice people over at Warp for us to see.

I am just off to install that horrible meadia player "real player" so I can listen to him as well when he was on the Breeze block with Mary Anne Hobbs the other day. Or I might try and get a mixing bowl mebership and download it in much better quality!

Friday, September 22, 2006

Squarepusher has gone all PINK!

Just an observation really! As you see from the picture he is wearing a nice (hmm) pink shirt and he also has a nice new PINK website for you all to look at.

Not too sure about these but the hair is even more nutty! There is somthing about them Jenkinsons that makes you wonder if all is ok with them! ;-)

Blamstrain does it again

Out just after the Fantastic release from him and Brothomstates, Juho Hietala has now released his follow up album to Ensi called "Disfold". I'm recieving my copy from him (donation on the way Juho!) soon and can't wait to hear it. Unfortunatly for the vinyl freaks like me there won't be a vinyl release.

Pop over to the Sending Orbs website to buy a copy of the album and pop over to Blamstrains website to show your support.

Friday, September 15, 2006

Ceephax again!

He just keeps on pushing them out! Finally after a very very long wait Andy Jenkinson has released The Crisp Chronicles. I'm glad this has eventually seen the light of day, all we need now is for Drivetime to be re-released.

Limited Squarepusher 12

Pop over to Warp Records and you'll see that IF you get in quick you can grab the limited 12" which will have all of the digital singles being released on Bleep over the next few weeks.

I have mine on order and I have to say that 4 slabs of vinyl for less than £15 ain't bad at all! Plus you get to hear one of his best albums in recent years.

Ceephax to release on Rephlex

Fantastic big news for ya all! this is from the Ceephax nutters website

Two possible albumic releases on the Rephlex label coming soon.

I cant wait for these! 2 albums on the Rephlex from Andy J is a dream come true! I hope we get more of a mature sound like the exidy tours release a few years back as some of his newer works don't have the same longevity as his early stuff.

Warp in a new way

From now on we shall all be able to enjoy more Warp webspace.

They have taken the move to branch out onto 2 very well know websites. You will be able to listen to new stuff on their new MySpace page and watch videos they upload onto their YouTube page.

It seem strange to me and I don't know if it fits the overall image of the record company. But if it works then good for them.

Thursday, August 24, 2006

The following is taken from WATMM. This is not my story but I would like to credit Joyrex

According to WARP Records, Squarepusher will be offering MP3s of tracks off his upcoming album, Hello Everything via Bleep.com and other digital music outlets online. Only one of these tracks will actually be on the album, making the others exclusive tracks not available anywhere else.

The series begins with "Welcome to Europe" on 4 September, followed by a track on 18 September, with the final track released 2 October.

Hello Everything is released 16 October, and more news regarding it's release is forthcoming.

New Clark Microsite

As is with Warp we have another Microsite!

This one is for Clark formerly know as Chris Clark. It's in preperation for his new album Body Riddle which is due for release on the 2nd October. In the run up to it's release Clark will be offering 3 exclusive free downloads of songs. The first (another version of Herr Bar) is ready now.

Global Goon website update

Well after a long time now (not as long as some!) Global Goons website has finally got something other than an ebay redirect!

If you havn't heard him yet pop over to his website and listen to samples from 2 of his more recent releases. If you like them why not contact him and buy a copy! Very very good stuff boys and girls!

The Narita website hasn't been updated but I have had a few shops tell me that tomorrow 21st August is the new release date!

Can't wait for this!!!!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ok no one has this for sale yet! If any of you find a copy let us all know! Everyone says yeah it'll be here tomorrow...........then nothing!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

IT'S OUT! IT'S OUT! Grab it from Boomkat now and to listen to samples!

D'Arcangelo website update!

After a long time with a non working website they have finally replaced it with a new non working website! There seems to be a trend at the moment for people to have websites down!

One thing I wish D'Arcangelo would sort out is the very anoying adverts! I guess you can't have it all. Lets hope it updates quickly and they make some more nice music!

Mary Anne Hobbs

She always gets them doesn't she. I had to go and miss it as well!

On Tuesdays show Mary Anne Hobbs Had a new track from Brothomstates and Blamstrain I reported on a while back! Follow this link to listen to the show. It's the second track in the mix at the begining. Enjoy.

Let's just say I have been waiting for a new full on Brothomstates release for some time now. So this new 12" from him and Blamstrain which should be released on the 6th of august ( afew days to go) is very very welcome indeed!

Flash and Jazz!

It's been a while since one of my cool website posts. Although this is more of a cool animation post, so a new one for you all!

It's some old school Jazz from the 50's (don't go away those of you at the back!) and some very cool 3d flash animation in perfect harmony with the music. Go and check out the Giant Steps

SQUAREPUSHER BACK ON FORM!

About fucking time too!

After the ok Ultravisitor we have a proper release! coming out later in the year (October) we have a perfect example of Mr Jenkinson at his best! Going on the sample on Warp we have a mash up of a track! lets hope the rest falls as well as this does!

Clark new album

New one this autum to continue from the last EP

Mike Dred starts mp3 store!

During my usual pop round the sites I happened to notice a very large MP3 link on Mike Dreds' homepage. Mike had mentioned to me in an email a while ago about the possibility of selling music via some kinda mp3 store.

Now it's not quite Bleep but then he probably doesn’t have the resources that Warp have but it's nice to see. I might have to grab his Bangface release for some mad car driving music!

Oh and there is the small matter of the 83dB side of the website! Sound design and engineering at its best! It gets very anal on the quality of sound but if you’re an audiophile these guys are what your dreams should be made of!

Monday, July 03, 2006

ARPANET!

Totally missed this on the radar! Arpanet have just released a brand new EP called Reference Frame which I am going to be recieving shortly from Boomkat.

Also on the agenda is a new LP from Arpanet called Inertial Frame released on Record Makers. Pop over to their site and listen to samples from the new album.

It's very very good you know.

Plaid and Bob Jaroc Videos

On from the recent BOC vids from warp comes another promo page for the new DVD from Plaid and Bob Jaroc.

The first video is pretty good but New Family (2006 version) is a fantastic piece of work and very thought provoking.

I will have to grab a copy to see what else they have come up with.

Acid on Sea mk3!

It's been announced for the 18th August. I was at the last one and the boat party was great but the "after parties" didn't really take off with most of us leaving after a boring wait in the Old Blue Last.

Ceephax and Cylob will be there so get ready to don the priate hats for more acid watery fun!

Friday, June 09, 2006

Luke Vibert on a role!

So with the fantastic new Spac hand Luke arriving this week and bowling people over who normally hate the dub/grime scene. Luke now throws at us 2 very very hot releases! The first is a return to Amen Andrews but this time that alter ego is up against the new Spac Hand Luke alter ego! Ready for a clash!

Next up is one I have been waiting for a while now and that’s the new Kerrier District album sploshy acid lines over easy beats is what to expect and the Ceephax mix is one to listen out for!

Both can be pre-ordered from Boomkat with samples of Amen vs Spac being found here and samples of Kerrier District being found here.

So far there is no news of a Kerrier district vinyl release I do hope this changes though as the vinyl of the first is fantastic!

Anders Ilar

OK so I have sat on this one for a while but the more I listen to his work the more I drift off into a world full of lush sounds. This guy knows how to write music for the brain!I have Just been giving Nightwidth a listen and I can say it's a 12" that I wished I had snapped up when it first came out. but it's now on my to grab list.

He has some new work on the way, If you looked at my post about the brothomstates and blamstrain collaboration you might have noticed that he has a new record coming in September on Narita. If you knwo of his Sands ep you can grab "sand part 1" from here Which uses samples from the nrt07 12".

On the subject of Narita (since they are popping up more and more) check out their 24hour mp3 radio station here

It's out and Boomkat has it!

I’m pretty sure that this is Luke Vibert, I have Ordered it and now can't wait for this to arrive. Don’t forget the Amen Andrews vs Spac Hand Luke release will be here son as well!

Brothomstrain vs Blamstates

No I havn't fucked up the names! This is a 3 track collabortation between Brothomstates and Blamstrain to be hitting us on a nice slab of vinyl from Narita records. Why this isn't going to land untill August is beyond me, but all I know is that I want it NOW!

Check out the Narita site for some sound bytes!

I have seen some wonderful touch sensitive demos before, but this is by far the most advanced. With multi touching and some fantastic software the guys at the NYU Media Research Lab have made the computer we all want to own now!
